When "our" sun goes nova, all that star stuff will be spread out across the galaxy to become new life. Death is not the end and inevitable, but from death comes new life. Don't let fear keep you from living your best lives. It's all you get, each go round. Peace through love, neighbors.

I have been reading the comments representing the end of days crowd. I agree there is a lot of destructive shit going on that is threatening the future of our planet. But life, although delicate, is also resilient. We will be fine far into the future if we can summon our collective will to make things better. Easy?.... Hell, no !! Impossible?.....Hell, no !! Will it help to give up ? .... Hell, no !!

will it happen?..... hell no

Great morning thought. Very "Carl Sagan" like.
Thanks for a good thought this morning!

Just because the atoms that currently make up me may wind up in other organisms in other solar systems doesn't mean that I will have any awareness of it. It's been a difficult and sometimes scary life for me. Knowing life can be hard, I am not interested in trying it again. It could be far worse than this one. I just want my eternal nothingness after this life. Don't take that away from me.

We cannot guaranteed it

@Theskeptic Depends on what you want to strive to be aware of. Sounds to me like @OldDave is far TOO aware of what an uncompelling and absurd proposition life is. I share his view that one can take comfort in one's mortality. I'm intermittently and provisionally grateful to be alive -- in the sense that it's in and of itself like winning the lottery to be sentient and to contemplate reality. On the other hand it's not all the impersonal curiosity of the observer, it's very much also the personal suffering of the participant. And no, not all suffering comes from clinging and rigid thinking. Some things just plain hurt no matter how well you sublimate or disassociate from it or let go of it or all the other "right" ways you're supposed to handle it.

Well said. what goes up must come down. most things live on the death of other life. its the way nature has survived for millions of years.

@McVinegar your welcome
