I have been seeing this in the local walmart for months. This is misleading advertising at it's best. Any competent person that has ever worked on water lines knows that this is a rusty drainpipe. NOT what your water lines look like. I have never seen a 2 inch water line in my life. Water lines are copper or PVC and the insides generally stay pretty clean unless you have bad water to start with. This advertisement is taking advantage of people's ignorance. This is a p-trap from a DRAIN line. It baffles me that companies think they can pull shit like this without a single consumer calling them out on their bullshit.
I wish they wouldn't add fluoride to water. I don't want forced medication.
I'm not demeaning you at all but it is a water supply line. Supply lines in older homes built pre 70's were mostly iron pipe and PVC is never used as a water supply line, not pressure rated high enough. The print is too small to read pipe size but 2" supply line is not unheard of and drain lines do not use flange bolt connections. I am a competent person who has worked on waterlines.
@SilverDollarJedi You stated, "Water lines are copper or PVC". PVC is never used for water supply, copper yes. The pipe they show in the ad is an old supply line, they are not referring to copper or PVC. As you say that's your opinion but I don't think you are a Journeyman Plumber or Pipefitter which I am, so I'm just saying your post is incorrect. You did though correct your mistake about using PVC to the proper CPVC usage.
