It is a win win for the big banks. If their gambles succeed they will profit. If the gambles fail they expect to be bailed out by the taxpayers.

Better than bail outs this time around it will be bail ins, the new laws allow the banks to seize deposits to maintain liquidity.
That is terrible...I'd hate to lose my little nest egg. @Surfpirate
@nicknotes Then you might want to think about keeping some of that nest in silver dollars in a sock under your mattress.
