What is the US Govt spending our taxpayer dollars on?
I didn't vote for him.... they damn near booed my out of my own office. I had a x on my back.
Yeah, rhetorical question. Mostly the military industrial complex, of course. Since WWII, our economy has been somewhat shaped by that. It influences government politices and politics and even the regulation of our currency. We fancy ourselves the "richest" nation on Earth, yet we seem to be blind to the fact that MANY other "poorer" nations have long since outpaced us in quality of life, because while we've thrown the lion's share of our nation's wealth into making the likes of military-industrial corporations wealthier and wealthier, other nations have invested their resources into improving their social support infrastructures. Anyone see Full Frontal, with Samantha Bee this week? She talked about our utterly appalling maternity mortality rates and lack of basic obstetrics services availability; all due to the fact it appears not to be profitable enough to invest in keeping women alive. Yay team??? Queue the patriotic chants of "USA! USA! We're #1!" I think not.
