Life and Taxes

If you were allowed to the option not to ever pay taxes again, would you?

if yes or no enlighten us as to, WHY?

I think I might have misinterpreted the question. I answered 'yes', but I think I meant 'no'. I'm in favor of taxes, just to clarify.

There are things that I actually want the government to provide. I would even be prepared to pay more tax for better service if we had a more trustworthy government. (I am in Australia.)

I don't want to be tax free. I want my politicians to be more responsible with the money.

Ideally, yeah that would be nice not to have to pay taxes. But realistically, you need taxes to contribute to the structure and well being of the community. We don't currently do a very good job and several areas are suffering, like our infrastructure, education, healthcare, policing. There are countries all over the world that pay higher taxes and don't whine about it, as much as we do, because it's worth it for what they get in return.

It makes sense to keep public services and programs available for everyone - and taxes are probably the best way to insure the financing is there; unless we somehow find a way to eliminate currencies altogether.
