Why can be the question but the existence of space/time is present in our brain. We live within the space/time continuum , exist , have being within it. Ergo we only exist because of our perception via our own brain. Past and future are not even a factor in the continuum itself. When we are in an state of panic, such as car crash, time is much slower and our brain shuts down all other thought allowing us to see all in detail. We then say time goes slow. It is the same time within our continuum but only our brain differentiated. It is all relative
