It is awfully hard to pick a best living pianist. lang lang is awfully good. somehow i have to choose martha argerich. she just can't be beat, especially for the ravel piano concerto in g. if it sounds a little gershwinesque to you, there's a reason, and it's not that gershwin emulated ravel. it's that ravel was crazy about gershwin!
