If a homo sapien ran in to a homo erectus. would the homo erectus attack or try to make friends.

I think Erectus seeing Sapiens would trigger fear or flee, and they would hide and watch. I'd think Sapiens would be armed with better technology, including better spear points and perhaps an atlatl, spear thrower. Erectus would be wary, and think, "Does Sapiens want to eat me?"
