LINK Florence flooding pollutes Carolina rivers flowing into ocean | News & Observer

Hurricane Florence is the gift that keeps on giving. We still don't know the damage that this hurricane has caused because the areas are too bad yet for us to get into. Judging by the space image , it's not looking good. Coal ash ponds have been breached along with hog lagoons. North Carolina has been under Republican control for a long time and deregulation was the name of the game.

The deregulations are definitely a huge contributing factor to the levels of pollution we're seeing in the environment.
Thank you, republicans. You should have to drink and bathe in that water.

Sorry you have to go through this.

One cost of our meat culture. These externalities are often, conveniently ignored.

That's another really devastating thing. All of the Hogs and chickens on these massive Farms where simply left to drown. The Farmers Insurance will cover it, but the taxpayers will wind-up cleaning up the pollution. Their Rich enough and big enough to be forced to bring these animals to Higher Ground or ship them out.

Anytime you have tons of rain you will get tons of shit into water ways. That is why we need to regulate places that can flow into them.
