Today, 13 indep, 10 Dems, and 3 Reps. I would think agnostics would be independent, at least in their thinking.
The problem is, America has a two party system. We can think and be independent, but it's really hard to vote independent. Most of the time, an independent candidate cannot win an election. Most of the time there is no independent candidate.
It does seem to me that our country has become extremely polarized. I personally am for tightening borders, but also for national health care such as Medicare for everybody. However, there is usually no candidate I can find that is for both because of the two party system.
I am not a socialist, but in many ways capitalism isn't working very well right now. The division between the rich and the poor is increasing at an alarming rate.
Trump got th economy going so more tax revenue is coming but he gave such massive tax cuts that debt is now at 22 trillion.
We always have money for war and military expense but not for heath care, not for helping our veterans, and not for education.

Independent because I use reason as my guide not some club. I also reserve the right to question (and have gotten into hot water because I did). Unfortunately, both sides are getting more and more extremist.

It seems as if a person in the United States, and maybe most of the world has become either far right or far left, and there is very little in the middle. Not only that, but they hate each other.
It seems that if a person doesn't agree with what we believe, then we hate them for it.
I have not problem with peaceful demonstrations of any kind, but violence is wrong.

Well today, the vote is 9 demo, 9 indep, and 2 republicans. One thing is for sure. Agnostics aren't republicans. I wonder if agnostics are mostly millennials. Of course, all agnostics aren't members of agnostics.com but our website might be a good sampling of worldwide agnostics. I dunno.

No party affiliation!

I'm liberal but I don't associate myself with either party.

I'm a socialist. There are a lot of us in UK, where it still isn't a dirty word

yeah there's been a lot of brain-washing in the US about being a socialist. I think it's admirable,, noble.....but I'm Australian. We have never been big on authority 😉

3

Democrat - Liberal and Progressive.

In WA voters don't registet with any politicalparty because we have open primaries.

I’m a Canadian citizen and cannot vote in America. I’m a permanent resident and awaiting my citizenship and will retain dual citizenship. I couldn’t imagine ever voting for a republican unless there’s a complete party flip like what happened in the 60’s. They do not align with my moral compass in any way.

I voted republican even though Trump acts like a deranged idiot. I think he is doing some good things. The democrats have gone off the deep end. Of course we need to tighten out borders. The economy is doing very well.We are not in any new wars.
Of course, I believe in freedom of choice for abortion. Also, we need to stop the migration of Muslims into this country. They don't assimilate. They just group up into bands and start hollering for Sharia law.
It seems that democratic liberals want to give this country away and I guess, all Americans just move to somewhere else.
However, I am not against national health care if done in the right way. I am not against free college tuition for students that can qualify to go to college and pass the courses. This country can't afford to help poor Americans in this country because we are always having to pay to fight some kind of war like Afghanistan. We have to stop trying to police the world.
The democrats overplayed their hand when protesting and voting against Kavenaugh. You can't keep a guy off SCOTUS for some unproven story about something he did when he was 17 years old. Reely???

our borders were already tight. the people being imprisoned right now are mostly legitimate asylum-seekers who did not cross the border illegally. they presented themselves properly at the border and were promptly taken into custody and had their children removed from them. this violates international law.

i know some muslims. they have no assimilation problems. the only people crying for sharia law are evangelical christians, only they don't call it that.

we democratic liberals have no intention of giving the country away. that's a good, albeit untrue, talking point, not a fact.

assault allegations, NOT without a boatload of evidence actually, aside, kavanaugh has been proven to have lied about material issues in his LAST hearings, has been shown to have lied in his recent hearings, received and knowingly forwarded stolen information, was involved in a torture program, and has shown his temperament to be so ridiculously inappropriate for ANY bench that it's amazing that he was a judge at all. a nominee has no inherent right to be approved. the senate has a right to complete information about any nominee, and most of the normal information any other nominee would have had available to the senate was blocked for no reason... except that it would've spoken against his approval. it's not about unsubstantiated allegations. it's about the whole picture. and he WILL try to reverse roe v wade, and he might just succeed. he stands against all the things you say you are not against. in fact most of what you say you're not against, trump and the republicans ARE against.

trump isn't acting like a deranged idiot. he IS a deranged idiot. what good things is he doing, besides destroying our relationships with our allies and cozying up to dictators, tearing families apart for the expressed purpose of deterring immigration, ANY immigration, and calling nazis "fine people"?

"You can't keep a guy off SCOTUS for some unproven story about something he did when he was 17 years old." Yes we can. And we most definitely should.

@jorj Do you really think the majority of Americans had ANY say in Kavanaugh's appointment? They absolutely did not.

I'm sorry but you can't be serious with this comment. WOW!
