QUESTION Pence says US to stop funding 'ineffective' UN relief efforts | TheHill

I hardly have words for how much this upsets me, so I'll be brief in my comments. Firstly, this is just a way for Pence and Trump to get all of the Christian organizations who support them paid. They will take fees from this money and I'm sure there will be very little oversight. Secondly, to defund the UN is just wrong, just like to not be a part of the Paris Climate Change accord is just wrong. Thirdly, to get Christian groups to administer relief efforts only supports other religions and countries in accusing the USA of not only being in a military war with the world, but in a religious war. I could go on, but I want to post this and see your comments to this latest step of fascism in the USA.

In the year that he has been in office I’ve yet to see anything either of these yo-yos has done for the benefit of the common citizen. They are truly immoral people. If they’re for it I gotta be against it.

I'm no fan of the UN, but the only reason I wouldn't want Trump to disappear is that then we would have Pence as president. I mean, how cold and immoral do you have to be to take away people's rights to sue their banks if they have been defrauded, like Pence did the other day?

But to speak to your issue, back in the day, and that day wasn't that long ago, churches would collect their own money to send missionaries somewhere and do whatever good stuff they were doing. I actually participated in one of those, collecting computers from my office we were replacing to go to schools in Uganda. Taking federal money from the UN to give it to religious groups is bad for the people who need help, bad for the spirit of Christianity, bad for the handful of good things the UN does.
