You see it in the anti-science attitude which has become much worse of late. While there are still many innovators here the overall attitudes towards science, math, and education in general are frightening. Look at our own state and the continuing budget cuts to the university - and that republicans are now of the view that college is harmful ( I have seems polls about this ).

Scientific progress and innovation is hard, but so many people have a TV show view of the world where things just magically happen. Sigh.

Girl we do not have a government we have a clusterfuck.

Certainly not.

Most of the people here in research and development are not native born they are from all over the world. We have let ourselves be dumbed down to the point that it's ok to be dumb. We need to teach our children to question everything and search for answers not just see something in a book and believe it. But now we have a government that's against science that puts us farther back.

If the US spent just a modest proportion of the trillions it spends on its empire, on scientific and technological innovation, what strides and advancement it, and the world as a flow on effect, would make. And the fact is the country would better, fairer, and stronger if it did. Reactionary political thinking is sabotaging the potential of that great country.

Conservatives are dragging us backwards. Liberals are not a lot better. We need to get back to a Progressive America.

maybe we can develop a super valium, so it won't bother us so much...our last hurrah, if you will. Ugh.

And trump call it a Victory.

Too many Americans have been shortchanged in their education and they have convinced themselves that its OK, they're just as smart as those edumacated people.

Innovation is a sin with these people . If they didn't steal it , it's not right to try it
