I doubt it's something they necessarily want or have chosen. I'm pretty sure my ex became asexual. Made me very lonely and feel rejected.

There are men who are only concerned with their own gratification or don't really know anything themselves. Add a woman who also knows nothing and this is what I meant in my earlier post. I had a 15 year old tell me that she only had anal sex because you couldn't get pregnant or a disease. I've also heard middle school boys say they only have the porn they watch as any type of instruction.

That's sad.

That could be. I've only run across it in the situations I mentioned but just in the past few years I've learned about several new sexual styles, types, genders, and everything from sapiosexual to demisexuality to polymormous to hijra.

Evolution and genetics is amazing. I have a background in genetics and I've already been passed by.

I have had stretches of asexuality due to having just having a relationship end, and the pain is so great that sexuality with anyone is the least of my priorities. It wasn't a permanent thing though.

It's not want. It just is.
Why would anyone want to be heterosexual, homosexual, bisexual or any other for that matter?

This is a question I would want you to answer seriously. Thank you for asking it.

I don't understand how anyone could ever want to have sex period. It wasn't always horrible, but it was never better than boring. I never tried sex with a woman, but I've also never experienced any kind of emotional attachment to a female that would lead to a sexual relationship. I assume sex with a woman would be just as boring as sex with a man.

@PhoebeCat There's more to relationship than just sex. Some people love sex,and indeed women do love it to,but like it or not, there are people who don't love it either way. In this case,I do love it.

I know that, but it's incredibly hard to maintain a relationship once sex is completely removed from the table. The majority of people will not be willing to give up sex even if they love someone. An asexual will generally be unwilling to have sex more than sporadically. I know that there are people on the asexual spectrum that will desire someone they are romantically attracted to if no one else. That's not me.

I can't answer that question but thought I'd post that I actually know a couple that DON"T have sex. don't know why but know they don't do it... my sister told me this about them.

I know that there are people who don't have sex,but also I know people who do have sex. I am looking for more than sex.

I don't think its a choice but either uneducated or uninformed. Either that or traumatized.

@xamountofstars I don't judge anyone's way of life. I present my way of life.

Umm nope. The aces I know are well educated, know plenty about sex, and have never been traumatized, but are simply not turned on sexually. The parts work, but the sensations are not something that they seek.

@xamountofstars There are people who have no idea of their own bodies, masturbation or even proper terms. Some people have no idea what it looks like under their pants. Then there are women who see sex as dirty, for children only or something done quickly in the dark under the covers, and with very little touch involved.

@xamountofstars Yes, it does because many of these people either suppress or just do not have any sexual feelings or do not recognize them as such.

@xamountofstars You're right, I'm totally wrong! What was I thinking to present another viewpoint, idea or an educated guess?
