Science is unfortunately subjective because people bring their baggage and it affects everything, which why rigorous double blind studies and peer review is so important. Question: do you think we may exist in a computer simulation?
We will never completely free ourselves of our biases and preconceptions. The best that we can do is to admit those to ourselves and to any audiences what those are -- in advance. And, if we do that, it usually works pretty well. We also need to admit to ourselves that all humans are a bundle of internal contradictions (as in Hermann Hesse's STAPPENWOLF, and learn to live with that fact. The steppenwolves among us are the ones who really make a difference!
