Roy Moore. Twice removed from supreme court because he unconstitutionally put his religious beliefs before the law. This guy shouldn't be eligible for public office even without the rape charges. What a POS.

It's a win-win situation. If Moore wins, the GOP will absolutely be named the Rapeuclican Party. If Doug gets in, congress might have to put the brakes on some of the more bat shit crazy ideas, like putting another trillion and a half on the Visa card to finance a tax cut.

I agree that Roy Moore is a POS. While I believe in the separation of church and state, though, I will never say that an individual's beliefs (whether based in religion or not) should not impact their decisions as a public official.
That said, there are legal standards that exist for a reason and if one's beliefs are in opposition to those legal standards those particular beliefs must be disregarded. For example, a female judge who never intends to have an abortion should not impose those personal beliefs on anyone else without legal precedent.

How about the defense that Mary was a teenager and Joseph was an adult carpenter but they had Jesus. I thought that God was Jesus's father. He is older than time. So this old bastard got the teen girl pregnant. Poor old Joe, he fell for it hook line and sinker.

Even if people are ashamed of Roy Moore in public. Voting is anonymous and racism, misogyny and Coo Coo religious beliefs are easy to hide when you're anonymous. So between the outwardly vile people and the cowardly vile people, he will most likely get elected unless they get out the vote in December.

I agree, anyone who puts their religion before the law should automatically be disqualified from any public office. Some people can separate the two--religious zealots cannot. The Moores of this country believe we were established as a Judeo-Christian nation and refuse to learn/accept the truth that our founders held Christianity in no higher regard than any other religion--and absolutely feared its deleterious effects.

For anyone who believes this is a Judeo-Christian nation, ask a Jew.

Judeo Christian only in that they accept the Jewish roots of their religion, which is why they are so fond of placing the ten commandments in public places. Ironically, even though they support Israel, they think Jews will go to Hell if they don't accept Jesus.

Jodyfine: Exactly! Most don't know about the other ten commandments--and totally ignore the other six-hundred-ish commands/laws set down by a supposedly unchanging god. And, for people who are so quick to say "but...but...that is the old testament," they sure do like to call on it when it fits their narrative.

I think that the revelations have shamed enough prior supporters to cause many to pull away from him. I don't think he will win. Even if he were to win, there is a large chance that the US Senate will vote to deny him a seat. I think he is dead in the water -- thankfully. My applause to the women who cam e forward!

I agree.
His utter lack of respect for the rule of law in favor of his own religious beliefs not once but twice should be enough evidence to prove that he will continue this activity in the future.
