If that's the case, I might read the responses first. Generally, I jump right end and tell them what I'm thinking. Sometimes with the result of throwing egg in my face.

I do some of both, Sometimes it's because it's a long post and there already could be one or more comments that are the same.
Other times it's because I don't really understand the question so I'll read a few to find out what's going on.
Many times though, I just comment blindly.
