Before anyone gets excited, this isn't a result of women being sought after for good quality, good paying jobs. This is because women are filling low paying jobs in teaching, child care, and service industry jobs, sometimes 2 or 3 of these jobs, because the economy in America no longer affords hourly wage workers to survive on just one job or a household with just one hourly wage earner.
Sad sad sad state of affairs.

Feel free to reply to any comment by clicking the "Reply" button.When I was attending college they had what was called an FTE or full time equivalent student. Budgets for departments and programs were based on FTEs, as was the pay for some adjunct faculty.
I think we need to bring the concept of FTEs into the employment statistics. Two 20 hour per week jobs would be rated as 1 FTE job. Four 30 hour per week jobs would be rated as 3 FTE jobs. This would give us a much more accurate picture of employment.

WWW.HOWIEHAWKINS.US peace through Green lifts all boats locally living wage jobs building Green infrastructure solar & wind for all most every building and parking lot healthcare for all taking profits away from insurance and unifying all hospitals and clinics.....local organic food ....Cuba did it in 3 years transitioning so can USA if people vote GREEN not war profits and polluter businesses
