Are agnostics and atheists and such more intelligent than believers? I am reminded of a story about Johnny Depp moving to France and him imagining the folks in the café s having intelligent and witty conversations and being horribly disappointed when he learned French.

I think the thing that separates believers and non-believers is the unconscious ability to compartmentalize. It's like they keep their religious belief in a drawer in their brain, and nothing can touch it. But they can open the drawer whenever they want and let it spill all over the place.

I met a catholic priest in Italy with a doctorate in philosophy. I would say no.
