'Life’s but a walking shadow, a poor player ,that struts and frets his hour upon the stage
And then is heard no more. It is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury,
Signifying nothing'. Shakespeare was an existentialist. Even when you don't seem to take part in the play you can still sit back and watch the the most extreme idiocy unfold; a soap opera par excellence.

What did Lady Macbeth say to her dog when he piddled on the carpet?
"Out, damned spot! Out, I say!"

could not resist sorry

One of my favourite Shakespeare quotes. Mind you, Macbeth was having a terrible day when he said it.
