People talking past each other... One lady started talking about what Blacks should do within their own community. My Black friend responded saying the lady didn't know what she was talking about, and then said that living in a Black community would give her a different perspective. The lady responded with "I have Black friends and students who tell me.... Okay, Do Blacks have any responsibility for their circumstances?..." I could see my friend was unnerved by the lady's insensitivity, or was it intentional callousness?

  1. How much responsibility does one have to try to educate someone who is intentionally misleading?

  2. How much responsibility does a community have for its own betterment when it is the target of systemic subjugation?

  3. Where does one start to reduce systemic racism?
