No one has been arrested for this kind of crime AFAIK. A death penalty is unlikely to have any affect.

If its vital back it up on an external drive, not the cloud, but a flash drive, disc or plug in hard drive. Use several different ones on different days.

I do. But then I've been "computer savvy" since 1980.
