LINK More than 160 world leaders and diplomats call for UK to release Julian Assange

This is an interesting article, not only because of the world leaders but there are details in it about Assange that I personally had not previously seen in any article/piece/documentary.

Journalism is Dead

"The letter was first written by the Lawyers for Assange group in August and the names of the politicians were released on Monday.

It contains a series of legal arguments about why Assange should not be extradited, including claims he would not receive a fair trial and “be exposed to torture or other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment.” "

Was there ever another time in the entire history of the US when such a claim would about the USA would not only have been made or believed by other world leaders, but would have been simply accepted by the population of the world as a whole with a simple shrug of the shoulder?

Was there a time when it would have been necessary for the government of the UK to have to be told this about their ally in the "special relationship"?

This is now the accepted image of the USA and the UK in the eyes of the world, a torture condoning, truth hating culture of corruption and journalistic suppression, does it not make you proud?

He was offered a pardon if he agreed to lie about the Russians stealing the DNC emails and giving them to the Trump campaign. Maybe I'm wrong, but that sounds like an admission that the Russians did steal the DNC emails to help the Trump campaign.

If saying that the Russians stole the DNC emails is a lie, how is it an admission that they stole the emails?

@RoboGraham, to get the pardon he would have to say the Russians didn't do it.

@mcgeo52

Okay, that makes much more sense.
