Even his niece has said that he would never risk losing like this again as of today. If he's prosecuted and he loses, he will become even more insignificant. This descent is the worst thing that he can imagine. Drumming up money helps in that he'll need it and it's his attempt to keep him relevant. His followers will discover in time or not but it will become apparent to anyone truly seeing that he is a shallow, self-centered narcissist who doesn't care about anyone other than himself.
