I think Mad King Donny may have ordered the hit in order to push Iran into retaliating. That, or an Iranian strike on Israel, will justify any measure of military strike on Iran from MKD.

@wordywalt It's possible this was ordered by MBS. Israel and USA usually proudly claim credit for these ops. The US doesn't take orders from Israel, they do use the Mossad sometimes to do their dirty work. Russia may have wanted to stir the pot and they usually won't own up to anything.
