12/05/2020 I think Trump's actions in Georgia today have taken us to a new level. I hope I'm wrong. TRUMP HAS CROSSED THE RUBICON, BE AFRAID, BE VERY AFRAID: [united-cats.com]
They should secede, because that worked so well for them last time.
I agree with you, Druvius. This, along with Flynn's call for Martial Law (which was not quickly ruled out by Agent Goldfinger), is a new declaration of intent. I think most of us are unsurprised that he reached it but the fact of it is alarming. I think most Democrats hear it but we are powerless. The only two groups of people that can stop him are Senate gop or Black Ops. If we go to Martial Law I would think both will spring into action. Every now and then I'm wrong about a thing so don't put money on it.
No. Why afraid? Why can't Democrats go on the offensive? Why always be afraid?
Because Democrats have no actual power until Jan 20, 2021. Even at that we don't until noon. I commend the Dems for their resistance efforts to date but without the gop defection our efforts aren't going to be enough. By the look of the new Senate voters still like the gop, too. Constitution doesn't say that an Executive has to be liked. Of course, it doesn't say anything about this kind of situation except that we, the people, are actually the government. We told him to get out. OUR Representatives in Congress should obey that command if it comes to Martial Law.
I keep telling myself that, too, but he does have the power to declare Martial Law. It would mean nothing if Senate gop finally said no and joined The Lincoln Group but, if they don't, then the cops will obey orders. Those who break curfews, or say unkind things about the obese orange child, will be arrested. I'm...concerned.
@rainmanjr he has many powers he can invoke within the limitations of the law, but he has demonstrated that laws don't matter to him; and the GOP-afflicted Senate has demonstrated that they don't care to hold him within legal boundaries. I'm scared too, but I'm also hopeful.
