FearlessFly@ have you ever traded in bitcoin? I recently had a number of bitcoin transactions. Not trading or investing. rather connecting with friends and relatives outside the US. Bitcoin seems to be a popular international currency, but not traded much by Americans. I think it is still too foreign a concept for most Americans. We seem to be very conservative when it comes to finances and economics.

Bitcoin is only unprofitable if you have to pay a market rate for electricity.

Venezuela is a socialist country. There are no markets, and the government owns the generators.

The goal here is not "profit" (a capitalist concept) but hard currency to pay for imports.
