One had chemical weapons used on them for protesting police killing citizens and the other they broke into the Capitol Building, killing a police officer and ransacking the House and Senate chambers.

See if you can figure out which is which just by the number of arrests?

Oh BS, they are just getting started......making stupid claims helps Nobody

Those are 1 day totals, not the total. The total for that June protest was 10k according to the AP.

Why weren't more people arrested for trying to take over the government and ransacking the Capitol Building than for protesting Police killing people?

@redbai you expect them to identify, locate, & arrest 5000+ people in 2 days...well Good for you, sunshine

@AnneWimsey No. I expected them to arrest them on the spot as they did with BLM protesters instead of letting them go home and having to chase them all over the country.

@redbai if they had enough manpower to do that, the crowd wouldn't have been inside the building to start with, would they.....
Nothing like demanding the totally unreasonable & then defending it.......

@AnneWimsey So the fact that they have no problem being prepared for arresting people fighting for their rights but not being able to be prepared for people who publicly announced they were coming to protest election results makes sense to you? Okay.

@redbai there were several hundred National Guardsmen on-site during the BLM marches, so they could make (rightly or wrongly) arrests on the spot.
You see any Guardsmen there Wednesday?
This is a completelely worthy investigation issue, where were they?....but you are still flailing to defend your indefensible, nasty, pointless original post, even as the absurdity of it becomes more & more obvious, aincha?!!

@AnneWimsey You disagreeing with the OP doesn't make it "indefensible, nasty" or, "pointless". Try demonstrating it instead of making baseless proclamations.

Here's what happened to the National Guard.
[washingtonpost.com]

The Chief of the Capitol Police wanted the National Guard there and he was told NO. That's why they weren't there. So why were they told that there was no need? Why were they automatically assumed necessary when there was a BLM march and no public announcements of purposeful violence, but when white racists use Twitter to rally the nation to march on Washington DC to overturn an election with public threats to assassinate the VP and Speaker of the House, that's deemed not relevant enough to bother having the National Guard?

It's pathetic that the US Government does not have multiple modes of non-lethal crowd control to protect the Capitol. Other countries use that all the time. I think a couple of water cannons spraying down the January crowds when the temp was in the mid-30's would have cooled them down right away.

It's all about which group supports white supremacy and which doesn't. It's also about which group is left wing and which group is right wing. It's obvious in each case which side law enforcement sides with.

So far.

Those are one day stats not cumulative.
