LINK Unlikely Allies Celebrate Supreme Court’s Ruling on College Free Speech Case | Hemant Mehta | Friendly Atheist | Patheos

The Supreme Court voted 8-1 yesterday in favor of a Christian evangelist, in a case that had the perhaps surprising support of a number of church/state separation groups.

I don't want to restrict all our liberties but I'm not sure I am in favor of church literature or preaching on a college campus. Perhaps if the literature had contact info on it and you could use it to get a meeting going later, OK. Otherwise, just pass out the literature and those who are offended or do not like it can simply hand it back. No words said and as simple as that. Only those who want to band together on such issues will do so.

so, fun fact, in much of the rest of the world proselytizing will get you shunned, even killed! Illegal in Israel and much of the mideast i guess

Chief Justice Roberts wrote a VERY LONG dissent. I read much of it, but not closely enough to try to summarize it.
