Has anyone visited Vancouver, BC?

I am planning to vacation in Vancouver, BC in May. Any tips on "what not to miss while there?

I worked for a Corporation that had an office in Seattle, Wa. and I would go there about every three months (I provided their IT support), and often people that I went with would take a day cruse over to Victoria BC. I never went, but those that did said that the weather there was identical to that in Seattle, and I found the weather in Seattle to be the best in the USA (I supported offices all over the country). What I liked the most was that for a large part of the year, if you wanted A/C, all you did was open the doors and windows. The wind always blows in from the Ocean and so it is mild and very moist. I would live in Seattle for health reasons except that it is entirely too expensive. Hope you enjoy.

My best friend has lived in Seattle for a long time and is now in the southeast. While I enjoy Seattle weather in Spring and Fall, the rest of the time is not to my personal comfort. It IS very expensive to live there even with a great job, I think. At this stage of my life, I like having travel . Thanks for the input.

Well if it was later like in the summer you could go to mildly famous Wreck Beach...Clothing Optional.

I liked Chinatown and the Science and Technology Museum. But I suppose what attracts depends on what your interests are.

I love to cook and will be attending a cooking class so....Chinatown will be interesting in addition to its culinary offerings. Science and Technology Museum is on the list.

@Trixie2You Have a great visit! If you have any spare time, take the ferry to Victoria for a day!

I wish I could, but my travel mate is a real "land lubber" and gets sick on water craft. I am a water bug....should I dump him? LOL!!!

@Trixie2You it’s a really big ship, you hardly know you’re on a boat, if you make it here you have to message me!

OH yes, several times! I LOVE IT there. Went to a hostel in Tofino island... beautiful ancient forest area. People so friendly. Vancouver city was interesting but I'm not fond of cityscape - downtown shocked me as it looked like an overcrowded Japan city or something like that. Way too crowded. The best part is food is so delicious there.

I love Vancouover, got a new battery in the van while we were there. I remember the suspension bridge, loved it. I remember taking a train. We must have been there in 1998 or so, please don't do the math. I just remember I enjoyed it, and I'd go back in a heartbeat.

Yes, but not for many years. Now that I live in Seattle I need to go again!

I really enjoy Quebec which is a Walled City and has a lot of European Architecture about it. I was in Vancouver 50 years ago when I was stationed in Seattle Washington.

Only as far into Canada as the Canadian side of Niagra Falls.

The Falls were breathtaking. I am now forever thankful that Ted Roosevelt created the National Parks and protected them.

Can you imagine casinos on the rims of the Grand Canyon?

No, I can't imagine casinos anywhere near the Grand Canyon. Thanks for the comment.

@Trixie2You I think they have already built the Zip Line in the Grand Canyon, though, or are constructing it. Fools whoops echoing through the canyon. Joy. I think that is on Native Land though and not actually in the NP itself.

I went there for New Years Eve 2000 (The Millenium). One of the most beautiful cities you will ever see. Also being a Canadian city means you'll probably run into nothing but really cool people. I would love to go back there for a longer visit someday.
