What Is Existential Nihilism?

It just means that there aren't any higher purposes or meanings for human beings. Humans might create their own meanings or purposes, for being here, but there isn't some overarching or higher purpose or meaning which defines the entirety of the human condition. Someone having concluded there is no God, therefore concludes also that there is no such thing as any intrinsic purpose or meaning for humanity, and that in the grand scheme of cosmic existence our lives are very insignificant to the Universe and Nature at large. In short when we die and carry over to the void of endless obilvion upon death our time existing here will be all but forgotten and erased from memory as if we never had existed, but not to worry there's still 🍕 Pizza. 🥂 Cheers.

Yes. As physicist Lawrence Krause has said, there is no reason to assume that the universe must have some great big answer, and our place in it, and to assume so is human arrogance and folly. There may be, but this is a human assumption only because our brains evolved to think in a certain way, particularly to look for causality and effect. I agree with that.

I’d love to have a existential discussion but what would be the point honestly? It doesn’t matter. Soon we’ll be extinct and the universe will never notice. If Earth is the only planet that developed life then in the end life will just be the most exotic form of erosion possible gathering rare organic compounds into geology level features like the cliffs of Dover and the vast oceans of petroleum underground, even our atmosphere so rich in oxygen is due to life, stromatolites specifically who terraformed us from a N2 & CO2 atmosphere to an N2 & O2 atmosphere they died in their O2 waste as we will in our CO2 waste.
We’re in an apocalypse and no one is coming to help, not gods, not aliens.
If we survive we will be permanently changed.
Conservatives abhor change, so they’re doomed, and if we let them derail CO2 regulations we’ll let them take us with them, we have no time for their crap. We simply have to science the F out of this or we’re as extinct as T-Rex.
Isaac Asimov Explained CO2 and the runaway greenhouse effect way back in the late 1960’s. It’s time to listen.

I thought FOR SURE the end of that was going to tell me to eat Arby's.

Our only purpose is to live well, and our legacy is how others whose life we have touched remember us. If we have lived well, it will be kindly, lovingly, and with the memory that our existence was in some way meaningful to them.

Sounds similar to psychological existentialism. 1) There is no inherent meaning to life. 2) No true connection with others is possible. 3) We will die. 4) (The kicker,) we have free will.
