Exactly. I can remember when 14 was permissible.
As usual the current proscription fails to mention that it is largely because of economic reasons.
Aborted formal education is mentioned as reason for not allowing marriage. The fact that parenthood can considerably improve the parent's cognitive abilities is not mentioned. Before long I suspect that enforced birth control of both sexes will be the order of the day.
