In kindergarten, I realized the Bible is just a book of stories written by men. Never believed in an invisible god. My nonreligious parents didn't force religion on us.
Raised Catholic, Mom was forced to attend Catholic schools through college.
"I became an atheist in nursing school when I realized a woman cannot be turned into salt," she said and laughed. I was 35. This was the first time I heard she was an atheist.
