I've tried this argument on xtians before but was told that god ensures that what is in there is right for us, or some such similar crap. You can't reason with a delusion.

This is pretty much why I hold that it is all just so much nonsense. Then I also add that the bible as we know it today came into being some 300 plus years after the time of Jesus and all of the writings did not make it into the big book. It was decided that the bible book should have a beginning and an end. This idea of book construction also explains all of the contradictions.
