I don’t believe in a literal, all-powerful person who lives in the sky, but the question reminds me of a man I knew many years ago whose strategic plan for his children was to feed their natural curiosities with as many sources of knowledge as he could provide, and then nurture whatever proclivities each child demonstrated. A pretty sneaky way to control people, huh?
