Who else has read the book, seen the movie or the Hulu series?
I haven't, but was just discussing it with my ex wife last night. She made it sound really interesting.prolly going to check it out soon
Very moving story and gets a girl's attention, for sure! Frightening, as Atwood didn't make up anything that hadn't already been done in the past by some country. As our country takes a turn as it seems to be doing, this is an important story to get out, as a warning not to let things get out of hand.
I watched the Hulu Series 1, and then read the book, thinking I'd learn what happened next, but realized the Hulu Series 1 only covered as far as the book went.
Curious now to watch the Hulu Series 2, but will wait until I get back from my upcoming trip, then binge watch all episodes in one week, which is what I did with the last series. I had no idea there was a movie made in 1990 as well. It would be interesting to see if it's presented differently.
The series is a bit different and 'updated' Vs the original movie..... otherwise the basic narrative is the same.
I loved the book and I love the series. I had posted about it a while back.
The first season was great! Planning to watch season 2 while I am recovering after having surgery.
I saw an old version over a decade or 2 ago. Remember Robert Duvall was in it.
Read the book and enjoyed it. I thought at the time it was far fetched... but consider the election of a sexual predator to the PROTUS maybe not as far as I thought.
Wish I had hulu and could watch this season as it rolls out. I'll pick up the first season by checking it out of the library eventually.
I have seen season 1 of the Hulu series. I wasn't feeling it at first, but I warmed up to it after a few episodes.
I read the book ca 20 yrs ago and wasn't impressed.
second season started. watch out for the Handmaidens Camp of Pointless Torture and Sorrow.
