Huh! That technique could actually come in handy for me... Sometimes I'm asked to perform a wedding which takes a bit of hiking and climbing over large slippery rocks, while I'm in my long dress.

"Girding" up might free up my hands for hanging on to the vines and ropes for some of the locations! Now, I'm almost sad that I don't do many hiking weddings anymore! When I do, I generally just belt my dress up, and blouse it over, which works well for my purposes and likely looks a bit more feminine than "girding my loins" haha!

Just think how long we went without knowing what “girding one’s loins” actually was!
