"The massive outlays that the US frittered away on its wars over the last twenty years brought it no closer to anything resembling victory. It is doubtful that throwing more money and weapons at the war in Ukraine will achieve anything at an acceptable cost." So far all the US has done is encourage Zellesky to fantasize about conquering Crimea, sort of like Mussolini's fantasies about riding into Cairo leading his armies on a white horse. Hope cooler heads prevail and a diplomatic settlement is reached, but that doesn't seem to be Washington's goal. The last thing the world needs is a wider war.

POTUS Joe had little choice but to support Ukraine and feed it weapons. Defense sales are our biggest export. Despite the lib cheering section it isn't looking hopeful for success as China/India feed the monkey. I think that's the take-away of Putin's threatening Lithuasia (sp). Putin will get his ground bridge and pipeline and we'll be left with a nation living on a fault line.
