I had an opportunity to visit Borrego Springs. The town is ringed by mountains and badlands. The badlands provide extensive erosion patterning including the formation of ' slot canyons. ' I drove up a wash with my 4WD on and that was very exciting. Luckily, I had done some sand buggy driving last year at Pismo Beach. Avoiding getting stuck in the sand was scary, thrilling and memorable.
