I am talking about the sort of comedy that exists in BBC program "I am sorry I have not a clue" panel game

UK and the USA seem to have different uses for the word I wonder why?

I had hoped for some innuendo but Hey Ho! I agree with you but it does vary according to dictionary and I thought it might be something to do with A USA / UK .split.
