I kinda think the only way they can win without Trump is if Trump is dead before the primaries start. If Trump is alive, but not the nominee, I think you might have a situation I've argued against for decades, that not all the Republicans will get in line to vote party over country.
If Trump is the nominee, I bet you'll see the exact same thing we saw before. Everyone else will get in line to prop him up and shunt their supporters to him.

I mean, even the strongest anti-Trump voice on the campaign trail, the big fat pile of shit Chris Christie, said he'd still vote for Trump if he was the nominee.

The only reason Trump wouldn't do that is because he's a narcissistic baby-man who thinks he deserves everything be handed to him on a silver platter.
