Just being curious: is there such a thing as free press in the USA today? All seem to be more or less puppets of some ideology or "community" or pressure group or lobbyists....
Example: the noble NYTimes used to be the epitome of independence, but now it's been taken over by a vocal but very well organized 'progressive' minority.

There is Fame & Big Money, HUGE in fact, for someone who finds a Woodward & Bernstein-type scoop, a lovely lifetime of lectures, teaching, and book tours, plus punditry.
I trust the profit motive to work, and work well...it's like letting the hounds loose to find the fox, 24/7/365.

Journalism is a human endeavor, and therefore not perfect. But it's mostly done right by institutions like NY Times, Washington Post, The Atlantic, PBS NewsHour, Reuter's, Associated Press, the New Yorker, Harpers, and others. It's hacks like Brightbart, OAN, Newsmax, and Fox "News" that you really have to be careful with. Is there a lot more lying and propaganda on the right than there used to be? Absolutely! So much so that just telling the straight facts will get you labelled a libtard, commie, pinko progressive.
Trump is a wanna be dictator with a small pr_ck and limited brain power. He wants to control stuff to compensate for his lack of endowment.
