LINK Stephen King's Thanksgiving Attack on Donald Trump -- Newsweek

Critically acclaimed author Stephen King is known for calling out former President Donald Trump online—and he didn't let the fact that it was Thanksgiving stop him from doing so again.

Despite ongoing legal challenges, several polls have shown that Trump maintains a lead in some of the most-critical battleground states ahead of the 2024 election.

Trump leads U.S. President Joe Biden in the Electoral College, according to a projection by Stack Data Strategy, even if Biden is favored to win the popular vote, flipping back states including Arizona, Georgia, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin in a head-to-head. In this scenario, Trump would win by a 292-246 margin.

King has regularly taken to X, formerly Twitter, to share his belief that Trump is unfit to be president. On November 23, he shared two posts to the platform, detailing his unfiltered thoughts on the Republican businessman.

Newsweek reached out to a representative for King and Trump for comment via email Friday.

"Bob Corker, Republican Senator: 'Trump has not demonstrated the stability or the competence necessary to be President,'" King wrote, quoting the former United States senator.

This is a paraphrased quote of what Corker said in 2017, when he criticized then-President Trump for how he handled the racially motivated protests in Charlottesville, Virginia. The Tennessee Republican told reporters that he thought there must be radical changes within the White House.

King's tweet proved to be divisive, as not everyone agreed with the horror author, with one commenting "that's called fiction, little Stephen."

"@StephenKing constantly criticizing and attacking Trump is not occurring from an organic place based on his own personal opinion, he's actually just another brought and paid off #shill that's been given his marching orders by the establishment, most likely a #secretsociety that he's aligned with," wrote one.

Another added: "Lack of competency, hell you're the expert on that."

That’s called fiction, little Stephen.

However, others agreed with King's post. "Sounds about right," one person simply put.

"That's putting it too mildly Stephen," another commented.

"I had the pleasure of personally speaking to Senator Corker a few times & while we were on opposite sides of the political aisle he was a man that I could respect because of his integrity," a third wrote.

Nor will he ever.

King wasn't done yet as, a minute later, he retweeted a post from Hercules: The Legendary Journeys actor Kevin Sorbo, who has long been a Trump-supporting Republican.

"I miss gas being $2.50. Bidenomics," Sorbo wrote, critiquing President Joe Biden by implying he is tanking the economy.

King shared the post to his X account and added: "Trump claims 'Biden is going to lead us into World War II.'"

People also debated this post in the replies, with users from both sides of the argument sharing their thoughts.

"Biden isn't leading anything lol [laugh out loud]," one person wrote, disagreeing with King.

"Stephen King has no idea what it's like to not be able to afford groceries right now bc [because] of democrats," posted another.

"Happy Thanksgiving King, I know you know the truth King, speak words of wisdom," a third wrote, supporting the author.

Another added: "I miss Kevin Sorbo being a forgotten relic."

King joined the Democratic party in 1970 and has been an outspoken critic of Trump since before the 77-year-old was elected president in 2016.

On May 24, 2016, King was one of 450 writers to sign an open letter opposing Trump's candidacy, with the author supporting Hilary Clinton's campaign.

Kevin Sorbo has produced a number of virulent hate-mongering films that denounce agnosticism in favor of Christian dogma. He's another vile idiot like Mel Gibson.
