Hello my Agnostic family,

I'm back with an update of my medical issues. I finally saw the cardiologist today after all the tests I went through.

I do have A-Fib and I also have blockages in all three heart arteries. One is 90% blocked, the other two are 70% blocked. The doctor has written several prescriptions for me and wants to do a heart cath. He said I may need a stent in the artery that is 90% blocked. The other two he says can be cleaned out. Sort of like a roto rooter.

I will get a call from the hospital next week to set up the procedure. My friend Linda, who lives near me will be taking me as the doctor says I will be put completely out for the procedure.

I'm glad to finally know what is going on, and will hopefully be back to my normal routine of life once I am fixed. The lack of energy, and breathing issues have really zapped me for the past couple of months so I am looking forward to getting things done.

I hope to be back here daily very soon as I do miss you all so much. 😘

Fear not lass, I had COVID19 a couple of years back followed by Cardiac Arrhythmia, a direct effect of COVID19 I was told! Still, they fixed me here in Portugal for free, the Hospital Santa Marta in Lisbon has some of the best heart specialists in country if not the world. They put an insrtument in my heart though a vein and were prepared to operate if necessary, thankfully all looked pretty good and I'm just taking medication now! I was awake during the procedure and it was painless you will be delighted to hear! Very best wishes for a healthy future! X

I'm so glad to hear that your outcome was so good, and that you're feeling better. My doctor said I will be put out completely, and they will go in through my left wrist.

Others I have talked to said I will be feeling so much better after the blockages are gone. I can't wait.

@Redheadedgammy Thanks very much for the kind though, strangely enough they went through my right wrist, doesn't matter as long as they do the business dear! Our lot don't pray but you are without doubt in all our thoughts too!

So glad that you got it diagnosed. I hope your recovery is short and complete. Be prepared for the fist full of pills for awhile.

@glennlab Eliquis being the most expensive of the bunch!

@michelle666gar thats in my daily regimen. they are proud of it. seems to work well tho.

@hankster That's good, take care of yourself!

I've already started taking 3 new medications. I can handle that as long as the meds keep me healthy. I'm just glad to know I may only need a stent for the 90% blocked artery. Many thanks for your kind words Glenn.

@michelle666gar Lucky for me that is not one of my new meds!! 😘

@Redheadedgammy Have you been able to check on tricare?

@glennlab I have not tried for a few weeks now. I have found it rather difficult to get through to whoever it is I need to talk to about Tricare.

When I've called I end up on hold for very long amounts of time, then the call drops. I had the same issue when I was trying to find out if I qualify for a VA loan since my husband was 100% disabled. I ended up calling my state representative for help on that one. I did finally get the good news that I can get a VA loan for something up to 145,000.

@Redheadedgammy You're probably going to have to go to his Las Cruces office
las Cruces District Office
115 W. Griggs Ave.
Las Cruces, NM 88001
Phone: (575) 323-6390

Let his aids get you through the red tape.

@glennlab Thanks for this info Glenn. When I have a little more energy I will go to the office and see what they can do for me. 😘

I'm happy you found out what is going on with your health and are going to get procedures done to help you! I hope you recover quickly and hopefully we can meet up at Andeles Dog House soon! Hug's 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗

Michelle, I have been thinking of that great place and you for weeks now! I definitely want to meet up with you again when I'm feeling better. 😘

@Redheadedgammy I hope you feel better soon and just let me know when you want to meet up!

So glad you can be fixed!!!!!!!
Best Wishes for 100% XXX Fast recovery!

Thanks for your well wishes Anne. I'm so glad too, that it's not anything more serious. The doctor said that I am pretty healthy and once these blockages are removed, I will be feeling so much better. I can't wait!! 😘

I hope it all goes well for you. After recovery I might have questions for you because I myself sleep too much and have low energy.

Definitely get yourself checked out Deno, because the sleeping a lot was my first symptom. I was just so tired all the time. Then the breathing issues started, followed by the A-Fib (flutters) getting worse. 😉

Great news. Basically, after the procedure, if the recovery time is short, you'll be soon back to your normality. I wish you the best of luck with the procedure and a speedy recovery.

Thank you for the well wishes. I too hope to be back to my old self in the not too distant future. I really miss everyone here. ❤️

You are missed here.
We are looking forward to your recovery, and your return.

Thank you so much Shelton, hugs really help, even virtually. 😉 I really have been missing everyone here. It takes so much out of me to just read and write in the comments.

Sounds like all your cardiac remodeling can be done with minimally invasive procedures like angioplasty. Good, it takes years to recovers from a sternotomy. Get well soon and regale us with your exploits!

Thank you, your comment is so kind. I promise to give a full report on my exploits. 😉

I'm glad you have answers. After your procedure, you should be feeling lots better!

Yes! I just want to feel good again. These last few months have been a struggle. I appreciate your good wishes. ❤️

Glad you now know that it’s all fixable Rhonda, I’m sure you’re just relieved to know that. I had two stents inserted in 2020 after my heart attack and apart from taking a handful of tablets every day you wouldn’t know I’d ever had heart problems at all. Our good wishes and love go with you from all of us here on Agnostics! 🥰💕

Marje the relief that things aren't any worse than they are is the best news. I'm looking forward to having the procedure and feeling better!!

I'm also glad that I didn't need any major surgery, just the heart cath. Thanks so much for your positive feedback and caring about me. 😘

6

Get well.

I'm working on it Wayne. 😉 hopefully, I'll be back to my normal self soon.

@Redheadedgammy the sooner the better.

7

Take care.

Thank you. I'm ready to get back to normal. 😉

Glad you finally know what's up and are getting it taken care of. Hope everything goes smoothly for you. 🤞🙂

Many thanks for your positive thoughts. ❤️

I have three stents. I have insane A-Fib. I take Vitamin K2 which helps clean arteries. 7 years ago I had a cardiac arrest in front of an ambulance crew. Required the paddles.
You will recover. Hope it does not break the bank. Mine, being in Canada, was free. Including two 800 mile air flights for my wife and I.

The doctor gave me medication for my A-Fib, and I have noticed a lessening of the flutters in only 3 days. He said once we get the arteries cleaned out I will feel a lot better and the breathing issues will go away.

I do have pretty good insurance, but needed to get my deductible out of the way. I've already had to pay a few hundred dollars for tests, office visits with specialists and medication. Hopefully it won't be much more.

@Redheadedgammy Ouch!

6

I hope everything goes well for you and you heal quickly.

Thank you! I so appreciate your positive thoughts. ❤️

5

i hope you have good health insurance.

I will soon find out just how good it is I guess. I've already been hit with bills totaling hundreds of dollars. I hope I've paid enough of the deductible now!!

6

Thanks for the news!

Did the doctor say how long you might be in hospital for?

If I have no issues during the procedure, I can go home the same day. The doctor said I just need someone here with me at home for the first night.

They will be going in from my left wrist, and he told me it will be pretty sore, and I'll have to keep my arm in a sling for a week to keep it immobile.

I'm hoping for the best outcome, and that I don't need to have a hospital stay.

Many thanks for your concern.

@Redheadedgammy That sure beats four nights in hospital. I had my chest sliced open seven years ago, and never looked back since.

All the best for you!

@anglophone Wow, that must have been tough for you. I'm glad I don't need that kind of surgery. Good to hear you're doing good now. 😉

7

that breathing stuff counts. all the good enoughs and some ice cream for you. still wanna see that smile soon.

The breathing issues have been the most scary for me. I will certainly be glad when the blockages are cleared up. Ice cream sounds so nice. 😋 Thanks so much for your well wishes.

@Redheadedgammy yeah the breathing stuff is scary. an aunt (super nurse) showed me how slow breathing is better than fast. the dr. gave me some "trelegy" to alleviate the breath monsters. one puff a day. works well if i don't start my olympic training routine.

I hope all goes well and you are back here fit as a fiddle. I'll be thinking of you and looking forward to your return. 🤗

Betty Level 8 Aug 16, 2024

Thanks so much for your good wishes Betty. I've missed everyone so much. I'm just so tired all the time and have been sleeping a lot. I'm ready to get back to my normal self, that's for sure!!

@Redheadedgammy Keep your thoughts positive. You have a lot of people here cheering for you. :🤗
