A monster snapping turtle that's living in the canal on my way home from work. This pic doesn't give a good feel for size but I'll bet this critter is about 30lbs!

I sometimes see these guys walking on the roads near home... (Lots of farm ponds around here) The road clearance they have is like a monster truck! And those eyes! Geez... My dad used to tell me that, if one bit you, it wouldn't let go unless it was struck by lightning- lol. Still wouldn't want to get bit.
