My first Monarch since moving here! I started a butterfly garden two years ago, specifically targeting monarchs and swallowtails. Got this lone caterpillar on native swamp milkweed that I’ve fought hard to keep going (is a tremendous aphid magnet).

This tree frog has been living near our front porch, serenading, since early spring. Twice he's hitched rides into our house when I've brought in the watering can for refill at the kitchen sink. Makes my day whenever I see him! (photo courtesy of my ...

Storm's coming... That means my semi-hibernating snakes are up, active, and particularly photogenic. (at least THREE of the five are).

We have THE best bug wall at work! I see lots of mantises, walking sticks, etc... on it. This week, it's been mostly cicadas, post egg laying or mating. Today, I was able to camera "catch" this sphynx moth: Xylophenes tersa, I believe.
