Our local supermarket has an award system giving so many points per dollar spent. Having lived through the previous era of retail gift stamps & experienced the devaluation occurring because it takes so long to collect sufficient to claim anything, I do not join in. Instead I ask the checkout chick for a smile - one for every $10 spent.
