My kitten Tyrion is now throwing all his toys in the water dish. Any ideas why?

Actually this isn't aberrant behaviour at all for any cat. It has to do with their hunting instincts similar to a raccoon your cat is cleaning its "kill" is all... Start to worry when your cat throws its toys into the litter box...

Same reason they knock stuff of the counter, to see what happens.

My cats tuck their toys behind the food bowl and try to lift the bowl up to hide their beloved fake mice.

I think they’re trying to hide them from me.
Since I do covet them....

He knows the water/food bowls are the best places to stash things he wants for later. My girl Lucky does the same thing.

My tuxie was playing with the stream coming out of the water fountain (for cats) this morning. I have to clear cat hair out of the filter because of this habit.

She's also dropped toys in there.

I've also found toys in the litter boxes.... and in my bed - and my slippers... So yes "Cats!".

Dunno, had a cat that would often put something into the dog's water bucket. I think he just liked to watch things bob around . . . or maybe he was trying to poison the dog.

Because he's being a little brat. I seriously don't know why. Every once in a while my little brat will do that. I think she is just a perverse little kitch bitty.
