First it was insomnia that was keeping me awake, but for the last few hours, it's been the cats.
Munchie was getting into things and making noise so I kicked him out of the bedroom and shut the door. Then Lucky started crying at me for some reason (their bowls were empty! Oh no!). Munchie decided that the best course of action for a closed door was to try and body slam it open. Lucky hissed at him under the door several times. Fine. Open door it is then.
I gave them food and thought they'd calm down with full bellies. Nope! It was go time for Munchie! He was in and out and up and down! Weeee! Then he wanted to play the "make my sisters hiss at me" game.
Hours.
And, of course, while I was writing this, Munchie settled in on me and went to sleep.
My formula is to play with them hard for a few hours before bedtime then feed them just before I settle for the night.
Closed doors are not allowed here, so we have to put up with whatever they do at night.
I feel your pain. Sometimes I have 6 cats bugging me while I try to sleep. Walking on my face and biting my legs or feet when they move under the blankets seem like popular activities at midnight, 2 am, 5 am, and whenever I’m waking up. I’m afraid if I lock them out of the bedroom they will create a ruckus trying to get in.
I had a large cat that would body slam the bedroom door. It showed he understood a little about physics, but nothing about latches. xd
Nocturnal cats. Normal. Lucky you.
They're at their worst in the early morning.

Posted by LaurenI thought this was an accurate representation of how we feel every time we remember our last cat, which happens often when my daughter and I laugh over our current cat's antics.
