My cats kept me going when I had PTSD so badly that I barely left the house.
They still help with keeping me going even though I am doing so much better these days.
Their insistence on routine is a good thing. Plus their sense of humor is excellent.

That is my case also, I had a mild case of PTSD brought forward by an accident. Cloud kept me on an even keel and remains a great companion today
