Not necessarily. A few weeks ago a black, female, doctor, died of covid after being discharged from one hospital and re-admitted to a second. She made a video of her mistreatment a few days before her death.

I've been discriminated against in an ER because of being transgender. I nearly died because the male nurse was so transphobic he wouldn't treat me leaving me lying in a bed toxic because of a botched orchiectomy with a temp of 104f. No tylenol no nothing for four hours.

@freeofgod I’m talking about the specific incident here. Not all incidents are racist. Did they shout racist epithets or make racist statements? I didn’t see that in this case.

My eldest has medical issues and would frequently show up in the ER after a seizure. He also has social, and emotional issues so would present like a homeless bum. I’d usually arrive to see him huddled in a corner, unattended. If I didn’t advocate for him, start waving his insurance card around and yell if I had to, he didn’t get adequate care and he was a white boy.

Everything is not racism, sometimes it’s classism, or other bias, sometimes just plain incompetence or understaffing.
